Playing Your Favorite Songs Should Be Fun… NOT Frustrating!

Learn from the comfort of your own home using this SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE, and ENJOYABLE method

Does This Sound Familiar?

You wish you picked up the guitar years ago, but life got in the way

You’ve tried learning before, but for some reason it just didn’t click

You have spent so much time caring for others and working, you feel it’s time to do something for yourself

You’re a huge music fan and would love to finally play some of those amazing tunes!

Today is the perfect day to start a new chapter and become the guitar player you always wanted to be.

Wouldn’t It Feel Amazing If You Could...

Play a song and have your spouse or your friends recognize the tune.

Lead a worship sing-along with pride and confidence.

Grab the lonely guitar that’s sitting there in the corner and become the life of the party.

Start writing your own songs and even play them for loved ones.

Not be afraid to play at an open mic or an event.

Honor a loved one by playing their favorite song.

What if guitar felt so enjoyable you forget that some people consider it "hard work" - You feel yourself improving effortlessly because you just can’t put the thing down…

How would you feel if you could do all of those things?

Well, I have made these dreams come true for thousands of people, and I can make that happen for you.

But before I show you how, allow me to help you get out of your own way by calling out some FALSE beliefs.

The Truth About Learning Guitar…

If you have felt any of the following, I just want to be clear… none of the following things matter AT ALL.

You can still learn guitar effectively - and get good - even if you think…
  • MY HANDS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TOO SMALL
  • I'M NOT A NATURAL
  • MY TEACHER SAID I DON'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
  • I DON’T HAVE THE DISCIPLINE TO PRACTICE
  • I’M TOO OLD
I’m especially sorry if you experienced #3… no real teacher would, or should, ever say that.

It All Boils Down To This...

The Only Things You Need To Succeed Is The Desire To Learn And The Love Of Music

Here's the truth: Musicians are music lovers first. That’s half the battle.

The other half of the battle?

Well, that's the approach.

That’s where I come in.

When I graduated from University with a degree in Jazz Guitar, I got a job teaching private lessons at a mom and pop shop. I was told to “teach from the book.” This method felt outdated and I could see the boredom in my students’ eyes.
I told myself “forget this” and started teaching my own way. Students loved it, but the boss didn’t. He said “how are they gonna know they’re making any progress if they aren’t getting through the book?”

I left to open my own practice. I got a lot of traction, quickly. People were catching onto my method at lightning speed. People who had taken lessons with multiple instructors before were finally seeing success with my method.

 What did I do differently?

I focused on REAL playing. Learning songs first and foremost. And rhythm. Without it, nothing else falls into place.

I noticed the books and other teachers were just showing more and more stuff, without taking the time to work through it properly. More chords, more scales, more patterns… It was overwhelming!

MY METHOD ENSURES YOU WILL...

  • Tap into your inner sense of rhythm, so that you will sound musical no matter what you play
  • Switch between chords with ease, so that you don’t miss a beat
  • Show up and play along with other musicians
  • Read the useful guitar charts and diagrams with zero frustration and ease
  • Enjoy practicing (it's not a chore if you do it right!)
  • Play many, many songs start to finish
Warning: you might not be able to put down your guitar after you begin this journey. And your insatiable thirst of getting better will be matched with your newfound confidence as a good guitarist, not just a guitar enthusiast!

“My guitar playing has improved immensely in such a short time”

My name is Rob Malone I am 60 years old and have wanted to play the guitar since my teenage years. The guitar always was portrayed as the cool instrument rocking hard and softly serenading the girls.

Unfortunately, 3 years ago I was diagnosed with a condition which has changed my life dramatically and forced me to retire from work because of ill health and being able to play the guitar has been a great comfort and lifeline to me.

I must have gone through dozens of videos but none of them had all the ingredients I was looking for. They either were more about their own egos, or their tuition was so complex I completely got lost until I came across GoodGuitarist.

Apart from the clear simplistic and enjoyable teaching there was so much more than just a video with a guy teaching you to play the guitar.

The easy step by step approach, articulate and encouraging manner James tutors you. He covers every little detail with warmth and enjoyable lessons which includes playing songs almost right from the start.

Sufficed to say with the help from James and his course my guitar playing has improved immensely in such a short time. I’ve only just begun my journey playing the guitar and I am full of enthusiasm to learn more.

– Rob Malone

ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF:

I’m James Testani. I run a popular guitar YouTube channel called "GoodGuitarist" with over 450,000 subscribers and my videos have garnered 50,000,000 views.

But those are just numbers… can I tell you a personal story instead? I feel it will get you to know me better.

Well, before I started learning guitar, I was pretty directionless. I was overweight, watched too much TV, lacked social skills, worked a job I didn’t like, and was generally very unhappy.

I told myself that if I lost the weight, I would be happy.

I exercised and put myself on a strict diet and I lost 50 pounds, but even that didn’t make me feel happy or fulfilled.

Something was still missing from my life.
You see, my next door neighbor had already been playing guitar for a few years. I’ll be clear - in just a few years, he went from beginner to phenomenal.

I was, honestly, pretty jealous. I was interested in the guitar. But I was struggling.

One day I had the courage to ask him to show me a couple things on guitar and I was immediately hooked.

I was so lucky because he was always a phone call away...

Whenever I got stuck, he could help me figure out what to do next. It gave me that direction and motivation I needed to keep going.

Long story short I ended up graduating music school with a jazz guitar degree and I went on to become the guitarist I always dreamed I could be.

Now, I am husband to a wife who is a great songwriter and a dad to two small children (ages 1 and 3). It’s safe to say that music is an integral part of our household and well-being and now I just want to share the JOY that this humble instrument can bring.

"I’ve gotten farther ahead than 6 months of lessons did for me."

Last year, if you told me I’d be playing Hallelujah and House of The Rising Sun I wouldn’t believe you. After taking private lessons for 6 months, and getting nowhere, my confidence was pretty shaken. As a last ditch effort I decided to try an online course. That was about 2 months ago and I’ve gotten farther ahead than 6 months of lessons did for me. And here’s the kicker, it cost me less than a month worth of lessons that I was paying for before. Worth every cent. I can’t thank James enough and am eternally grateful for his awesome course.

- Alan Nesbitt

There is a painless, step-by-step, simple way for you to achieve your guitar dreams

There are so many online guitar teachers out there that just want you to sell you unattainable dreams (play like a pro! Play just like Stevie Ray Vaughan! Move over, Jimi Hendrix!).

They push their sub-par course on you, only to have you quit, and think it’s your fault because you didn’t do their professional-level 2-hour-a-day practice routine.

If you’ve tried and failed before, or if life simply got in the way, I am here to remind you that
  • It’s not too late
  • It’s not your fault
  • It only takes 15 minutes, 4 days a week to see real results
The good news is: I’ve seen this time and again… the people who struggle to learn guitar aren’t missing anything themselves. The only thing you're missing is a roadmap to success.
"I wasted a week trying to learn on youtube. The teaching just wasn't beginner friendly. I purchased James's course to see if I would see progress and I saw results after THREE days! (I was practicing every chance I got.) I'm a little over 50% done with the course and I am VERY impressed with the results. Thank you, James!"

- Alyssa Perez

"I love how James teaches; He is relaxed and patient, encouraging and smooth. Lessons progress at a nice pace so it is always interesting. I also like that he doesn't promise things like "Learn guitar in a week!" or "Easy shortcuts to be great at everything on guitar!" Thanks James for helping me!"

- Gabrielle Gandolfo

"I'm 50 years old and for many years a guitar simply sat in my closet. Then I found this course. James is amazing. He is incredibly patient and thorough while simultaneously keeping it interesting and fun. I look forward to my evening practice sessions now, thanks very much to James! If you've ever wanted to play guitar but didn't know where to turn, James and this course are for you!"

- George Linge

I Had A Revelation...

Sometimes I meet people who have been playing for 10+ years who, I’ll be frank, still can’t really play the guitar.

So I had a revelation that could help people like this:

The fastest way to actually get better is to optimize THE WAY you practice.

It’s simple. People who are directionless just don’t make it past the beginner stage.

And, once again, it’s not their fault.

Have you ever had an instructor who showed you a bunch of stuff on guitar, but then you had no idea what to practice when you got home?

That’s why I embed practice sessions within my courses. I don’t just show you guitar - I teach you how to practice guitar through real exercises in real time.

And to boot: too many instructors start with something way too complicated! I'm sure you’ve seen it all: hard-to-read charts and diagrams, chord shapes that look like it requires finger acrobatics, and confusing wording like DUDUDUUDUUDDD! It’s enough to make any beginner quit.

I created my course, “Learn Guitar Once and For All” because of my desire to offer a course that starts at level 0.

A course that practices with you.

A course that guides you step-by-step in bite-sized chunks.

A course that builds you a very solid foundation.

Some online courses make you pay anywhere from $15 to $30 every single month. And yeah, they give you access to this giant library of lessons. But realistically, how long would it take you to get through them (if there even is an A-to-Z path, which is rarely the case)? Let's say you took a year, spending $20 per month - that's $240... it adds up quick.

My course is a one-time payment (or 3 installments) and it's yours. It costs the same as 3 lessons with an in-person instructor, but instead of just visiting for 30 minutes, you get unlimited access and can take the lessons as many times as you like, reviewing them over and over, practicing along with me, and getting more than your money's worth.
  • No monthly/annual fees - pay once and access it whenever and wherever.
  • You’ll also receive all updates to the course (like the awesome blues chapter that I JUST added!)

If you say yes to your dream of playing music TODAY, I’ll celebrate by including these exciting FREE BONUSES!

Did you know that serious guitar players may develop carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, tendonitis, or other hand and wrist issues, if they're not careful? These can cause permanent damage, result in expensive surgeries and can sideline you from playing guitar for months or even longer.

I hired a licensed physiotherapist to teach you how to maintain proper technique and prevent injury while playing the guitar.

You'll get to watch the full interview, plus a video series where we do warmups, exercises and massages to ensure your hands are in tip-top shape. Also comes with its own workbook.

TOTAL VALUE $1,170

You pay $1,170 ONLY $149!

Pay once and it's all yours. No recurring fees, no fuss. I'm in it for the long haul - I'm going to help you finally learn guitar once and for all!

I charge $50 for a half-hour private lesson in my studio. I don’t teach during Christmas and a few other holidays, so let’s say you take 45 weekly lessons a year, which is about how long it would take to learn everything I teach in this course…

45 x $50 = $2,250. So you’d be investing over two grand - and you’d definitely be a confident guitarist at that point.

But that’s assuming you get a teacher like me, who actually plans out your lessons and cares about your learning outcomes. I remember my first time taking private lessons, I walked in and the guy asked me “so, uhhh, what do you want to do today?” (Uhhmmm.. Isn’t that what I’m paying you to figure out?)

When you take my course, you’ll be put on a path - the same path that has led over 4,600 students to victory. Plus you’ll be able to redo the lessons as many times as you like, since you’ll have unlimited, on-demand access to all the instructional materials.

I want to make learning guitar affordable for everybody. So you’ll get it all for a tiny fraction of the cost of one-on-one lessons.

Now you might be thinking...
“But when I take private lessons, I get personalized feedback. They're able to watch me play and figure out how to fix bad habits and all that stuff”
… and you are correct in thinking that. I mean, I spend an equal amount of effort in a one-on-one environment as I do with my online teaching environment, so I understand the pros and cons of each very, very well.

And through that, I’ve figured out how to merge these two and give you the best of both worlds.

You’re not in it alone - the GoodGuitarist community has your back!

In order to provide you with the personalized feedback that you need to succeed, this course includes access to the GoodGuitarist Community Group. You can ask questions there, and I’ll answer them myself. Plus you’ll be able to take part in the discussion with other students and support each other as you grow into confident guitarists.

It’s not only a great way to get feedback and prevent bad habits from forming, but it’s proven to be an incredible source of motivation and inspiration. We’re all in this together, and together we will succeed!

All you need to do is join now, and you will have my full support and we will all be there to make sure you become a good guitarist.
"The personal touch and effort he puts into the courses and his students is second to none."
My name is Chris Robinson, I have Mental (PTSD) and Physical Health issues from my time in the Canadian Armed Forces. I have found learning and playing guitar has given me a purpose to get out of bed again. It is something to focus on and distract my mind away from so many intrusive thoughts.

Working with James has been fantastic as I needed a structured course and WOW, James and I email back and forth often when I have questions. I don’t think there are too many courses out there that if you email them your struggles they will actually try and help guide your learning towards your needs.

I am half way through the beginner course and I am loving it so much. I would highly recommend James and his courses over any other one out there. The personal touch and effort he puts into the courses and his students is second to none.

- Chris Robinson

Is this the right course for you?

I want you to see for yourself if this is a good fit.

To help you make this decision I'm offering a 30-day no-questions money back guarantee.
I see other people offering 14-day guarantees, or 30-days but with the fine print that you need to actually get through a huge chunk of the course, and then have a conversation with them about why it’s not working.

I know my course works, so I’m going to give you 30 days. You're going to be able to see real results.

And if you feel you didn't get your money's worth, it can be day 1, or day 30… you're welcome to simply email me and say “I want a refund.” You don't have to tell me why, and you're gonna get all your money back.

The reason why I offer this… I'm gonna be completely honest. I have an over 99% satisfaction rate. In fact, oftentimes, when people do return my course, it's not because they don't like it. It's because they want intermediate or advanced content - and they end up trading up for my intermediate and advanced courses.

So if you want to learn guitar with me, there's really no risk involved. It's all on me.

Just give it a try and see if you can learn guitar once and for all.

Hear what some members of the GoodGuitarist Community have to say...

Grateful for this course

James's approach to teaching guitar was exactly what I needed to finally learn guitar. My whole life playing guitar seemed to be out of reach for me. James takes the mystery out of the amazing instrument and makes playing it accessible to any kind of learner.

He breaks the lessons down into small enough chunks that you're able to understand basic musical concepts early in the process. James also gives you the tools and program for practicing and make the concepts learned a more natural part of who you are (or who you are becoming).

I've watched quite a number of YouTube guitar teachers with huge followings and huge personalities to match. James delivers lessons in a way that puts the student first. I learned something new in every lesson.

I've completed the course, but I go back and review content and his new videos and learn something new every time. Plus I see my own experience and skill level increase as I review. It's been one of the best learning experiences of my life.

- Bryon Mondok

He connects with you, right where you are...

I really appreciated James style and the way he connects with you right where you are. He talks in a way that you can hear it. You can you can listen to it, you can receive it. And it makes you want to push into it and do your lesson and actually follow along. So I would encourage anybody that’s thinking about it to give his lessons a try.

- Scott Newcomer

Best way to learn guitar by far

I found this course, and James, via a Youtube video whilst trying to learn one of my favorite songs. I always found Good Guitarist videos (on Youtube) so helpful and James to have been so so patient.

One day I saw his LEARN GUITAR ONCE AND FOR ALL course and pounced on the opportunity to learn as much as I could from this amazing teacher.

This course has all the essential elements needed for learning and enhancing my guitar skills. I had a bit of basic guitar strumming up my sleeve but not in the depth and strategic planning like this course shows. It really went through every, and any part of guitar playing one needs to know.

It went through all the basics with very interactive lessons on things like chord shapes, numerous different strumming patterns, clapping and tapping exercises for rhythm building, and even an in depth video  showing you exactly how to change your strings, use a capo properly, and how to go about properly learning your favorite songs off the internet.

From the bottom of my heart, truly worth every cent.

- Ariel Florian

Without finding you I don’t think I would be this far along...

I picked the guitar back up after 40 plus years…when the nest emptied. Been playing with you almost two years now. I am surprised that can play... without finding you I don’t think I would be this far along. You are an excellent teacher and one of the many blessings in my life. Thanks again!

- Michelle B.

Perfect Course!

I'm 50 years old and have wanted to play guitar since I was about 12. For many years a guitar simply sat in my closet. Figuring out how to start seemed confusing and intimidating. Then I found this course. James is amazing. He is incredibly patient and thorough while simultaneously keeping it interesting and fun. I look forward to my evening practice sessions now, thanks very much to James! If you've ever wanted to play guitar but didn't know where to turn, James and this course are for you!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the time commitment?
The length of time will vary for each person. In general, it's possible to be comfortable switching chords and strumming with steady rhythm (and ease) on the guitar within a few weeks or months with consistent practice.

I personally recommend you set aside 15 minutes a day to go through the modules and practice 4-6 times a week.

In other words, you'll be playing your favorite songs in no time!

What equipment do I need to get started?
To get started right away, all you need is the motivation to learn.

If you already have a guitar, rock on! If not, I’ll walk you through finding the right guitar that will grow with you as an advancing player, and how to source all of the other inexpensive gear you’ll need like guitar picks.

What if I get stuck or have a question?
The course has a built-in discussion feature that lets you ask questions directly within each lesson. I answer these questions myself, and you’ll also be able to see other students’ questions and my answers to those too.
Will this work for me even if…?
Yes! ANYONE can learn how to play guitar with this simple, effective, and proven method. Remember Mike Lamb? He learned to play his favorite songs even though he was missing a couple of fingers… So no matter what, you can learn too.
How affordable is this compared to other resources?
For less than the cost of streaming your favorite music for a year, you could actually be PLAYING it yourself!

While it's tempting to think you can ‘get by’ with the free resources out there like YouTube… trust me, I’ve been there, done that, got the t-shirt-- it's not worth it.

After years of being self-taught, then going to music school to learn professionally, I know the methods that will get you playing properly FAST, and set you up for success as you advance.

This way, you won't have to spend time down the road unlearning all the bad habits and techniques you picked up on the internet.

What if I'm not tech savvy?
That’s okay! This course is made with everyone in mind, and even if you’re not very good with computers, I guarantee you’ll figure it out - and if you can’t, you can always ask!

It’s real simple. Once you enroll in the course, you’ll get an email with your login information. You click a link, make up a password, and that’s it. All the instructions are clear as day, and I’ll also send you a link to a video that walks you through everything, including some tips for getting the most from my courses.

What if I don’t have what it takes?
The truth is, I'm not going to simplify things in this course-- but I am going to show you how simple it can be to play guitar IF you approach it the right way.

When I first started, ALL I wanted was to sound good and have fun….
And that’s what I want to help you with too.

P.S.

Hey…

I remember what it was like as a new guitar player.

I was intimidated, overwhelmed, and confused...

But my love of music was greater than my fear so I kept going.

Over the following months and years, I learned that music is a conversation.

One that needs to be in sync with others. One that needs to flow and be fun.

I started to have compassion for myself for making mistakes. I started to notice that others were learning too, whereas before I thought everybody else seemed like a master and I was the imposter in the room.

Since then, I’ve learned to say “yes” to new experiences that will humble me.

The more open-minded I was, the better I got.

All of this has shaped the way I teach guitar.

I always emphasize getting a good feel for rhythm and I offer many, many “real-time” playalongs so that I can be that person that is playing alongside you.

I can be the guide I was missing out on when I first started learning guitar.

I won’t leave you hanging with inaccurate advice or lofty, too-good-to-be-true claims about becoming a “true musician”.

Instead, I want to teach you the language of music. I want to have that conversation with you.

I want you to show yourself compassion…

I would love to witness your personal growth - no matter how young, old, insecure, happy, or unhappy you currently are.

There is so much to be said.

Will you join the conversation and let yourself be heard?

I’ve got the map you need…

All you have to do is click right here to join me.

About their RESULTS with "Learn Guitar Once-And-For-All"

The Best Guitar Course

James is totally patient and easy to understand and follow in his guitar course. It’s a comprehensive course and I would recommend it completely.

Robin Singer

Brilliant calm and intuitive lessons

James has a wonderful calm and relaxing way of teaching. I am an older student and have looked at other instructors but this is by far the best.

Ian Campbell

The simplest and fastest way to learn to play guitar

This is one of the best online guitar classes you can find! I give it a 10 out of 10. James videos on strumming and singing songs provide the simplest and fastest way to learn to play guitar and sing at the same time! His videos illustrate exactly when and how to change chords to go along with singing the song. I consider this method of instruction superior to many guitar classes I’ve taken with a live instructor.

John Buky

Thank you James

At 65, it’s so much easier to fall off the track I guess much more so if I started out when I was younger. Just a little bit confusing for me when I start in one spot then I have to practice in yet another spot. I hope it’s not me? I’ll be sticking with James because I believe he will help me get back on track. James you are the BEST by far.

Robert Hutton

A great experience

As a very raw beginner to guitar, and a "senior" at that, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The course has been well designed for beginners at any age, and James presents and teaches in a way that is easy to pick up on. A feature I have used is one that allows you to go back and re-do a certain day, for instance maybe lesson 5, for re-enforcement. And, yes, when all was said and done, I did learn to play Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones. I am making great progress. I love the work James has done in putting this together. I give "GoodGuitarist" 5 stars for sure. Thanks James.

Enough depth to not intimidate me as a student yet lifts the bar just enough to make me try harder.

There is a saying, “you get what you pay for.” Well James, my view is that in your course I am getting ”much more than I paid for.”

I explored many many options on the Internet. Once I stumbled on some of James you tube offerings I explored more and found the Good Guitarist. My ability ramped up fast. Without this course I’m not sure where I’d be. Thank you James

I am so grateful... such a great product.

I am a middle aged woman. I wanted a way to relax and have always wanted to learn an instrument. When I stumbled across Good Guitarist. The tutorial was very easy to follow and it was only up to me how fast or slow I wanted to learn. With encouragement emails to keep me on track I am so grateful to James for having such a great product.

I thought the instruction was very clear and methodical.

I liked the detail covered in each section and it wasn’t long and boring. At my age, it was easy to retain the information provided.

This course is, to be honest, so much better than I expected it to be.

They tried to teach us guitar in elementary school and I was absolutely hopeless at it (as I have been with all other instruments), so I didn’t expect to have much luck with this either. That’s not to say I’m any good now, but the lessons are clear and start you off as slow as possible, and it’s made me feel like i’m actually learning something and having fun doing it.

A great course for those that want to reinforce and build on simple chord progressions and strumming.

– Paul James

I absolutely recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn guitar from zero.

I thought it was late to learn an instrument because I was very “old”; however, I accepted the challenge from James because it looked interesting and possible. Currently, I have no doubt that it was the best decision. James’s course is clear and easy to use; in addition, he makes it fun. He does not forget any detail and information for beginners. In each chapter I felt that I learned something new.

This is a good course for beginners…

I’ve been learning guitar seriously for about eight months now (mostly from random Videos on YouTube) struggling and doing the best I can. There have been other teachers who helped me much. The main reason I signed up for this course was to close some of the gaps in my knowledge (as a beginning guitatist). Very good course… for “absolute beginners” and for someone like myself….

This learning guitar course is by far an easy one to follow... very effective

You do learn unless you don’t study and practice….  Having James explain every exercise \ segment and doing them with you and then putting you to practice it is one….the other is having the chord progression scrolling along the chords as we learn is brilliant and very much needed! Thank you, James….

I began this course not knowing how to change chords smoothly.

In the end, i am confidently changing chords without unnecessary pauses.
